Ingredients:
- 1 cup dry milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ green cardamom
- ¼ teaspoon yellow food color
- 4 cups milk
- ¼ teaspoon saffron, some for sprinkle
- 1 tablespoon chopped pistachios/almonds
- ¾ cup sugar
Instructions:
Step 1
Mix dry milk, egg, baking powder, half of the food coloring, oil, and a pinch of cardamom powder in the large mixing bowl. Knead well, as you would dough. Now shape them into balls or any other shape you desire.
Step 2
Bring the milk, sugar, leftover color, and small cardamom powder to a boil. When it comes to a boil and the sugar dissolves, add the shaped balls, and bring them back to a boil for nearly 5 minutes. Reduce the heat immediately if the mixture becomes too hot. Rasmalai balls will double in size.
Last Step
Serve in a dish garnished with almonds and pistachios.
